What's Up With Sundays?

We have been participating in the Hillsong Kids "Follow You" program for a little while now.  They're doing a great job.  Ask them what they've learned lately.

We will spend the summer traveling on HIGH POINTS AIRLINES.  Check in with your kids to find out where they have been traveling!!

Some things you will notice in our Kids Church area:  We learned about Psalm 150 and decorated hands that are "praising."  We also have hung up "film strips" that have new pictures of the kids participating in the "Follow You" program.

On another note, We want the kids to realize that God uses every person in miraculous ways.  We all have a mission.  We all have a purpose in God's Kingdom and we are all specially equipped to accomplish what God wants us to do.

Life has some rough places in it.  We might even think God has left us for a while.  But really, God is preparing us for a special job.  He takes us through tough times so we can help others.  We can understand grace and mercy because we have experienced this first hand.  This is a lesson I have learned full well recently - and continue to learn daily.

We would like the children to learn that God will use all of their life experiences to prepare them for what He has ahead.  And we would like them to learn that God is able to use anyone, and wants to use us.

A Note About Discipline

Of course we all know that our children are little cherubs and would never do anything wrong.  Unfortunately, sometimes when our little cherubs get together, they get a little excited and forget their cherub ways.  At those times, we have the following guidelines to fall back on:

1.  No child will be allowed to put themselves or any member of our group in danger.  This means that hitting, name calling and disrespect will not be tolerated.  This also means that if a child is participating in or encouraging others to do things that can result in injury, they will be asked to stop this behavior.  Ultimately, we believe it is a family matter to provide guidelines for behavior and social expectations.  If we are unable to encourage your child to stop inappropriate behavior effectively, we may request you assist us by clearing up any misinterpretation of expectations for your child.

2.  We encourage all of the children to present themselves as a witness for God at all times.  Children who are not following the rules set forth by whatever setting we're in would be damaging that witness.  So we encourage the children to follow the instructions of any leaders provided for us by the facilities we are visiting or to listen intently to any speakers that share their time with us.  We also ask that children demonstrate kindness to those around us who may be sharing in the activities or discussions.

The Schedule

Parents, please encourage your children to attend Sunday Morning Discipleship Hour.  This is a time when children can receive specific instruction and more direct interactions with the Word of God.  This teaching time is very important for their development as spiritually minded young Christian ministers.  And it gives you the opportunity to take advantage of one of our Adult Bible electives like the "Essential Christianity" class, "The Book of Ezekiel" class or our Adult Bible Study.  Sunday Discipleship hour starts at 9:30 AM every Sunday morning.  Come on in - we've already made the coffee!!
